Vastu for apartments and villas in Dubai
A home in Dubai or elsewhere in the UAE can be checked for Vastu online from its floor plan. The rules are the same as in India. Three points need care in the UAE: finding North inside a tower, choosing between mirror units, and checking an off-plan unit before booking.

Finding North in a tower
In Dubai and Abu Dhabi the difference between magnetic and true North is about 2.2° east, which is small. The larger problem is the building. Steel and reinforced concrete can pull a phone compass well off, especially near columns and lift cores. Match the tower on the satellite map first, then use the compass as a second check. Apartments
Units on the same floor are often mirror images of each other. The same layout then gives different zones. Check the plan of the exact unit, and compare up to 8 units side by side.
Villas and townhouses
Check the main door and the internal staircase first. The preferred staircase zones are S, SSW, SW, WSW, W under the 16-zone school and S, SW, W under the traditional 8-direction school. Off-plan purchases
For an off-plan unit, the developer's floor plan is enough to check room placement. Confirm the unit number and its orientation on the site plan, because the brochure plan may show a typical unit.

Does Vastu apply to a home outside India?
The rules are read by direction from the centre of the home, so they are applied in the same way anywhere. What changes is how North is found.
Should I check an off-plan unit before booking?
Yes. The plan of the exact unit is enough. Check it before you pay the booking amount, while you can still choose another unit.
